Spa emptying when selecting spa

Ok to to clarify as it’s always been in this position since we moved in. You want me to shut off the below once the spa is full in yellow where the line is .

My next question would be can I leave it in this position or do I need to change it

You say that pipe feeds the spa spillover. If so, then yes. Shut it off.

You cannot leave it in that position forever, as your spa will not get any new water and its chlorine level will decline.

You can leave it off for a day or two without a problem. And you only need to run your spa spillover for about 30 minutes to refresh the spa water. You can turn your spa spillover on when you want.

Thanks all I’m confused as I’ve never touched this value and never had an issue with the spa draining down in going to shut it off now and run the spa to fil and report back

That makes two of us.

I am trying to take you through a structured approach to understanding your situation. If you are correct then that pipe is not labeled correctly that adds to confusion.

Let’s determine which pipe feeds the spa spillover.

in going to shut it off now and run the spa to fil and report back
That makes no sense.

We did not discuss running the spa.

We discussed closing the diverter in POOL mode to stop the spillover. The spa should be full.

The spa had drained 2inches already so I ran the pump to bring it up to the right level

I’ve now closed the Valve as suggested
To see if the water stays at the correct level

Leave it OFF and see if the spa water drops further.

stops at the same level each day even with it not in the Off position

I Will turn off the pump now and put it in the off now and leave it in the Off for today

I’m adding the original owners pool operation notes from 2005 if this helps

The spa pictures is this thread show different water levels in every picture.

Look at the water level compared to a specific jet. No two are the same.

When the water level truly stabilizes show pictures of the water level at all of the jets looking into the jets. So we can see if the water is above or below the bottom of the jet.

Here are all the spa pictures in this thread...
