New to me pool.
I think this pump and motor are 14 years old. Noticed this morning it was really loud. Hit 94 db.
Do I replace the pump and motor? Will start searching threads for a good replacement.

Sounds like a bearing is going.

You have a Hayward Northstar sp4015x20 pump. This looks like the direct replacement single speed motor...

How much do you run your pump? You may want to use this as an opportunity to replace it with an energy efficient variable speed pump or replace the SS motor with a dual speed motor.

Thanks AJW22. I'm just going to replace the motor. Couple decent videos on youtube. It appears the only other thing I need is the large rubber seal. Do you have any recommendations on other parts I should replace while in there?

Update - turns out my home warranty covers the pump so I called them. Sent out a tech from a local company who was nice and he replaced the bearing and seals. I would have preferred the entire motor be replaced but for $75 I can’t complain. Once home warranty expires I will look at relaxing the entire unit.
