After adding the CYA should i shock the pool at night with liquid bleach?

Your pool is already "shocked" according to the post above with FC at 20ppm.

I have a sand dollar filter with media glass.

The flow might be too strong for the filter.

Typically, you want about 15 gpm/sqft for best performance.

Higher flow pushes dirt through the sand.

Excessive flow can also cause sand loss during backwashing.

If the sand is too low, the performance will be poor.

In my opinion, glass is not as good as regular filter sand.

The filter might be too small.

You can try adding about a pound of DE into the skimmer so that it coats the filter media and helps improve performance.
