So this just happened....

I never thought the tile cleaning feature was to remove scale/calcium buildup. I have calcium that leaks out of the grout line in spots, that stuff is TOUGH!
Two weeks ago in Cancun, they had someone standing in the pool scrubbing the waterline with I expect a powerful acid.

The only feature then that I’m wondering about is the 2x speed brush. I unfortunately get a ton of debris from my neighbors pine trees. So much so that I felt it more then necessary to invest in a beta solar skimmer bot. The beta does the job of getting the debris off the wall. I use the fine filters for my Nautilis as the regular filters are simply junk. Honestly I don’t know why they include the regular filters in the first place.

If your plan is to run a robot AND solar powered robot skimmer, then definitely go cheap on the robot. The waterline features are going to do you no good and you won’t use them. I’d say the S200 is more robot than you’ll ever need.

My situation kinda forces me to do it this way. I have all these pine trees, and only one skimmer that can’t keep up. The one skimmer is also the only suction side line besides the main drains at the bottom, and I have no additional lines that can be used for either a suction side or a pressure side cleaner. I’m kinda forced into using a robot (or rip up my pool deck to run new plumbing) and it’s kinda frustrating to know that they are designed to fail after a few years…. But what can you do… except by the cheapest one possible that will work for me..

My bad, that was an assumption on my part… I have never had to deal with scale… sounds like I’m really fortunate I haven’t had too…

Henceforth, this shall be known as the Day of Infinite Sadness.

The day that the mighty Mr. T was cut down in his prime.

A life so full of promise and possibility that will never be fulfilled.

Mr. T was born in Yizre'el Israel and immigrated to the United States looking for a new adventure.

Mr. T was working as a pool cleaner to put himself through university to make a better life for himself, Mrs. T and the baby Ts.

Every year, on this very day, we will hold a moment of silence to remember Mr. T and the good times we had together.

Below is a baby picture of Mr. T in the delivery room.

Goodbye Mr. T, we will never forget you.:cry::cry::cry:

One thing that seems rather odd is that the squirrel that died in the pool and Mr. T both had rather sizable life insurance policies and they both passed away suddenly under suspicious circumstances.

Now, I’m not trying to suggest that that implies that anything nefarious happened to either one of them

I’m just saying that it’s interesting, that’s all.

Matt, please tell me you didn't lock Mr T in your garage with a Tig Welder, a pickup and a pile of 2X4s.

There’s also a pressurized cylinder of oxygen gas, several scuba tanks, angle iron, 25 pounds of kitty litter (fresh, not used), and an “old tractor” …. Should I be worried 😬

I bet MacGyver would make a very interesting pool cleaner out of all that stuff, and I know he would use the kitty litter in lieu of the desiccant packs…. Which come to think of it, that’s obviously where you went horribly wrong with the rebuild….

Actually I used two types of desiccant packs - silica gel spheres AND montmorillonite clay, aka bentonite clay, aka kitty litter in perforated pouch … momma always sayd I was the most smartest of all her ‘ittle dumplins ’ …

Well you see, you have to calculate the number of perforations in the pouch per square inch to the ounces of kitty litter in order to calculate it’s absorbency rate. It has to come out to a greater rate then the volume of water you have in the pool… I’m sure someone’s made a calculator for that..
