Small Pool Build - Brisbane, Australia [emoji1037]

Today we had to say goodbye to our dog with the hip injury. It turned out to be a very aggressive form of bone cancer. She was 6 years old and the most beautiful natured dog we have ever owned. We are devastated.

Just catching up on threads...I'm so sorry to hear about your dog. What a terrible loss for you and your other dog. But I'm glad you have your other one as you can comfort each other.

And on happier comments, yay, a slide! I bet your kiddos are really excited now!

Thank you we’re still struggling especially our other dog who doesn’t understand.

Slide us still positioned in the driveway in its box [emoji849] Kids might be tempted to assemble it in situ! It’s school holidays for them so hard to look at but at least it’s winter holidays not summer!

So very sorry to hear about your dog. We are going though something similar very sorry to hear :(

On a side note, another thing I learned in your thread, the new skimmer socks arrived and are installed, thanks! :)

I am so sorry to hear you are going through similar. It is devastating. I hope your dog has a better outcome. Are they old?

Glad you have skimmer socks! Waiting for the hairnets to arrive so I can give them a go.

So what seems really quite insignificant at the moment - my auto ph dosing seems to be working as it should. Was told it should come down to about .2 of set ph level. It is doing just that. I have it set to 7.5 (aiming for 7.7). Gets itself up to about 7.9 then brings itself down to 7.7. The new probe seems to have done the trick.

Pool is looking pretty good after the grinding yesterday.

Seem to be at the tail end now. Just need to coordinate dog minding and concrete resurfacing. Hoping for the Monday after next. Pb still needs to finish silicone, place proper drain cover and install slide. It’s almost all mine.

Great that the probe has been sorted - Hopefully it should track well now...!

Not long to go now by the looks of it.. :)

Yes, it seems to be functioning as it should now. Been about 3 it 4 days that it seems to be tracking and maintaining well. I think the first day or two it was a little all over the place and I was concerned it hadn’t fixed the issue. I’ve let it sort itself out while making sure the ph didn’t go over 8 and it seems to have settled. I think my journey Woolf have been very different had it worked 7 weeks ago when it was all set up. It has been a very frustrating time but hoping this is it. I’m kind of wondering what to do with myself lately as the pool was so all consuming with these issues now it’s almost taking care of itself. Very bizarre. I have learnt a lot though... mostly from you, so it’s not all bad.

Do you have a date for your pavers to be installed? Can’t be far off now.

Just waiting on a call back from the supplier as to when they can drop them off - Might give him a REMINDER tomorrow...

Once they are delivered then the PB can schedule install of coping and my sunken pool cover box...!

My hairnets arrived from Amazon USA and they work perfectly. Thanks for helping me learn I could do that (both riley and costas!)

Great to hear that your pH is no longer a bother :)

Hmm, when did yours arrive? I just received notification that a package from the US due to arrive soon so I it guess it might be them... or it might be something else I ordered [emoji6] Good to bear they work well.

Thinking about slide location. We had originally planned for the green area. It will use a decent amount of that side of the decking. I am also considering the red location as being on a diagonal it would make both the larger sides of the deck more usable. Wherever we place it we will have to walk under it to get around the deck. It’s 1.8m high on the underside so easy enough to do... unless one of our boys eventually somehow manages to grow taller than expected [emoji23] Both locations are safe in terms of depth and exit space. Any thoughts?
