Small Pool Build - Brisbane, Australia [emoji1037]

Installer working in the dark... Yes/No...:p

Hmm, well since I can’t get them to work during the day I think I have no chance of them showing now [emoji35] I’ve had this huge 2.4m high box at the top of my driveway since last Monday - the first day of school holidays. Not only is it near impossible to get the cars out but my poor boys have had to look at it as their holidays slip away. I work Wed-Fri and school goes back Monday so they’ve had to look at the box the entire school holidays. Letting me down is one thing but letting my kids down is another. To top it off we waited here the entire day for slide installation when I could have taken them somewhere fun had I known they weren’t coming.

That is just so frustrating, not to mention rude!! And I completely sympathize and agree about letting the kids down...that has been my main focus on our entire build. Half my son's summer is gone and no pool yet.

My fingers are crossed that you get a new date soon and that they show up!

I know how you feel - Fairly lax on their part in not at least informing you that they could not make it today.

That was my main disappointment. Just call me and tell me so we can make other plans instead of wasting their last usable school holiday day. Are you being stuffed around at the moment or are you talking previously when you say you know how I feel?

Liz................lock that bad boy up!!!

Who is willing to bet they hide around the corner to wait for her to leave for work tomorrow THEN run in and set it up in the WRONG place!!!

I would if I could Kim! It weighs 200kg lol. Both side gates are key locked with the keys inside. I also have my security camera so I check in at work to make sure there’s no action in the backyard. It has sound too. Would be funny if they did what you say then I use the speaker to tell them to stop what they’re doing and step away from the slide. The best defence is a mother in law who flew in from interstate yesterday to visit. She will give them what’s for and tell them to go away.

Both...lol

Currently my paving supplier can only supply my coping (due to be delivered today actually) with the rest of the paving still weeks away.

We will see if the coping actually turns up today....!

It’s 16* outside and the boys and a friend want to swim [emoji31] Open the pool cover to this beautiful sight. Love my TFP water! Just dosed with LC to give the FC the bump it will need.

I don't envy your power bill, but I do envy having kids enjoying the pool!!!

It's really great that you have it happening for the kids when it's brand new and exciting for them :) That's what it's all about :paddle: (wish we had a bomb icon, haha (cannonball)

Haha! We just got our power bill although only two months of heating but did include the initial heat from 14* plus the pump running on high for six weeks thanks to handover pool guy’s misinformation. It was $200 higher than usual. The heat pump itself is very reasonable for the year. We have the stats for our pool and location and it should cost around $800 / year to heat to a constant 30*. Over the summer months the costs are minimal with the bulk of the costs obviously being in winter.

Small Pool Build - Brisbane, Australia ??

Excellent yeh! The bonus of right-sizing! And a cover [emoji6] Superb job you've done on your pool. Really great :)

Yeah it’s not too bad really. Wanted the option to swim year round but honestly wasn’t expecting that the boys actually would. The novelty will eventually wear off I’m guessing but at least they’re not having to wait for spring to enjoy it.

So the slide went in yesterday.... sort of. There was a problem with one piece and the bolt holes not lining up or the thread or something. Fortunately SR Smith is based in Brisbane and will come out to rectify. Glad the pb put it in not us. It’s not bolted down so can play with location but thinking where pb left it is probably best. It’s a monstrosity [emoji31] I knew it would be. Can walk through and around it which was a necessity. It’s currently 6* at almost 8am here so not thinking about swimming right this minute anyway! Boys were blown away when they saw it. My oldest especially. I don’t think they were expecting it to be so big.

Pb said the old ph probe was stuffed and has been sent back to the manufacturer. When he changed it it was out by .6! Glad all my jumping up and down wasn’t me being neurotic.

Concrete resurfacing should start this week. They need to pressure wash and build a step before resurfacing.
