Small Pool Build - Brisbane, Australia [emoji1037]

You and your hubby will be sleeping good at bed time after all of that!!! WOW! It all looks wonderful. The fence really looks nice and finished.

Thanks Kim. That fence was the same one that was there before! Our side had to come down temporarily for rail heights underneath to be fixed. Think hubby did a better job putting it back up than the original installer did at the beginning of the year. Very happy to see it back up again. Yes, big day. Will definitely sleep well [emoji99]

Your glass fence looks amazing! You're almost there! What's next, the pool interior finish? When will that be?

Thanks Kristmas. Fence still needs finishing off, which will be Monday or Tuesday. Then the pavers need sealing. They clean them first, then let them dry for a few days before sealing. This is really going to chew into a bit of time. We need our fence certified, which should happen on the 2nd, but I’ve heard they always fail you the first time so you have to pay another call out fee. I think pebble will come not long after that! I’d say we are two weeks give or take from completion. Contracted finish date was 1st of May, so we will go over that. Considering we had a four week rain delay at one point, I’m happt with that.

When you get a chance to play with your fancy PAL lighting controller - you might want to give me a yell....

Spent the last two days trying to figure out how to have it operate via WiFi through the phone app.

I actually managed to inadvertently disable the WifI module inside the PAL controller, then could not connect to it.

Internet was of no help and many others have had issues getting it to work by using your phone an the app.

The instructions miss a few steps which is the cause of frustration and I even found a hidden reset button (not mentioned anywhere in the documentation) on the WiFi module which I used to reset it to default as I had locked it up when playing with remote server settings through my wireless router.

Anyway - after scratching my head for two days and fiddling around with all manner of network settings etc I managed to now have it working off my mobile...

Fence was meant to be completed today. Had an early message from the fencer saying he had gastro and couldn’t come. Poor supervisor scrambled to shuffle everything else that was lined up after the fence. It seems he’s still sick unfortunately, so things will be delayed even further. Hubby received a phone call from a different supervisor, who apologised that ours couldn’t call. Reception was bad and hubby didn’t really get all three new dates given. He did manage to hear that pebble is scheduled for next Friday. Hopefully they will acid wash and fill on the sat. as I don’t want the pebble sitting over the long weekend with no water. I will speak with our supervisor in the morning and get those other dates. Hopefully this means we’re full by the 13th. Happy Mother’s Day to me... all going well. It will be 12 days over schedule, which I guess isn’t too bad.

Poor guy! I hate that for him and you :(

12 days over? That is unreal with the rain you had. They have done a good job catching up!

Kim:kim:

All going to plan it will be 12 days. Today was actually the scheduled date. Almost 4 weeks of rain delays and now a sick fencer, if it only ends up being 12 days I’ll be over the moon. Especially as that Sunday is Mother’s Day... a pool and a cheap and nasty set of handmade earrings from the school stall! I’d better not get too excited, I still need to check all of this with the supervisor.

Ok well at 7am a guy turned up to clean and seal the pool. Then just after 7am the fencer turns up! Very unexpected! He thinks the supervisor that called my hubby was talking about a job a different job lol. I’m not complaining. Of course my leave is up and I’m back to work today. Hoping to come home to a finished fence. Fencer still isn’t well so I will be keeping my distance until I leave for work!

Great stuff... more progress then.

I have been juggling 'leave' and 'working from home' just to keep an eye on everything.

I'd hate to think how it would all go without the homeowner being on site double checking the build.

That’s what IP cameras are for! I can see right now that the fence is finished and so is the pool clean. I’ve taken time off where I can, but I need to give work quite a bit of notice. Hubby has been able to work from home at times. Not always easy when dates are changed etc. Definitely the more you can be there the better.

Just wrote a long post and the app crashed on me. Let me know if any of the chemicals they’re about to feed my baby look concerning.

The stabilizer is the CYA-needed!

-Calcium down-not so sure about this one-I know your new plaster will cause the calcium to go up but you need some calcium in the pool. What is the calcium in your fill water? they many just have it there for just in case.

-stabilized chlorine-can you tell if it is loose power or firm pucks/tablets? you will need chlorine and stabilizer but this is a slow way to add stabilizer and you have the "straight" stabilizer above so............use with care.

-buffer is a fancy name for baking soda LOL you might need it. Talk to your PH about how he plans to start the plaster. What method will he be using?

-metal out-good stuff and is one of the better safe than sorry ones.

-purex hardness raiser-now this is a puzzle due to them also having the calcium down-----not sure where they are coming from on this one.

-The salt should wait for 30 days but it is good to have it there and ready.

Talk to them about how they plan on adding the CYA. It should NOT be dumped in the water. Some people pour it in the skimmer so it goes to the filter to dissolve. This take is longer to get into the water. Here at TFP we like to put it in cute socks and either put it in the skimmer basket, taking care to not block the water flow or hanging in front of a return making sure it does not touch the plaster. The kids can squeeze the socks to help it dissolve faster.

That fence looks awesome! BIG job checked off!
