Well I noticed fred was acting a little sluggish & tired, went and checked the filter and sure enough time to backwash... did that, added DE to recharge, cleaned pump basket and we are off and running again [emoji23][emoji23]

Poor fred, got his workout last night lol

Tested water... FC still holding at 13 lol Going to retest CYA later after water gets to room temp since it dissolved quickly yesterday.

Yup clear.... but just remeasured CYA... looks like it is at 60 [emoji849][emoji849] so going to up the chlorine now.... no wonder it has been holding at 13 [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]

Dosed it up, brushed some more and will test FC in 30 min... then will hook fred back up to do his thing lol

Yup brushed where he doesn't go this morning and took a toothbrush in that godforsaken cold water and brushed the return jet and skimmer really good... then while my hand was already freezing took my smaller stiff brush and brushed the ladder and under rungs as best as I could before the temperature actually started hurting my hand [emoji23][emoji23]

I will brush again later today as it gets warmer outside... really wish the sun was in the back yard [emoji23][emoji23]

Well! When you do something you do it right! Even when it hurts! It was all I could do to put my hand in to empty my skimmer basket!

Here is some :sun: to warm you back up!

Kim:kim:

It was so blasted cold lol I just held my breath and started scrubbing until I couldn't any more lol Will be happy when SLAM is done and then I can take the filter apart and clean it and recharge, get the water perfect and start the heater up for 4 hours a day lol

Should take forever to heat [emoji23][emoji23]

So FC still holding around 27 and took some more pics :)

That has to be the fastest SLAM in the history of TFP! I would have thought your water would have looked a lot worse after you did all of the brushing.

So now here is the real test! How clear is your pool???? Can you see heads/tails on a coin at the bottom of the deep end? (how did is your deep end?).

Kim:kim:

Haha I couldn't see that on best days [emoji23][emoji23]

1. I wear bifocals [emoji23][emoji23]
2. The deep end is well over 8 and if you notice in pics it has major slopes on all sides including from the step

I usually just have to use Fred there on how clear it is... yesterday when I started it was really cloudy after brushing it all up but seems to be pretty clear now :)

I will do an OCLT tonight just to see but will probably hold it to SLAM a couple more days just to make myself comfy because that was a lot of algae lol

Wish the sun would hit it as that is a good way to see it shine
