SLAM question

I am trying the SLAM method for the first time due to algae problem. My question is do I take my pool vac out while I’m doing it? The instructions say to run the pump 24/7. Does that mean just the skimmer?

You can leave the vac in. The main idea on leaving the pump running is to circulate the water around to impact algae and to clean up the dead algae as quickly as possible.
If you normally leave the vac in, leave it. If you take it out, take it out.

Thank you. I was concerned about leaving it in when the chlorine is so high. I thought it might damage the plastic. I guess I do need it in to vacuum up the dead algae!

While on the subject how are you testing you pool as slam is a productive way to rid the pool of algae but your own testing is #1 via one of the recommended test kits.

I am doing exactly what the instructions say, which is using the FAS-DPD test. However, I am only using that for the SLAM. I now plan to use it as part of my testing routine, on a weekly basis.

You asked if the 'high' FC level would harm your vacuum. The levels of FC used by TFPC will not do any damage to your vacuum.
