Slam day 6- slow moving

No, not at the moment. Don't rule out pollen either. It's been really bad in parts of the country. But continue the SLAM Process until you pass all 3 criteria. Inspect, clean & repeat. Once you pass all 3 criteria, only then "IF" there is a belief that you have Mustard Algae, only then would you increase teh FC to MA levels for 24 hrs only. But not now. At this time, it's still the SLAM process.

Not a bad idea to cofirm the CYA. If it changed, adjust your FC accordingly. Refer to the FC/CYA Levels. If the CYA dropped below 30, certainly increase it back to about 30 which requires an FC of 12. If the CYA is closer to 40, maintain the FC of 16.
Do my valves look like they’re right?

When mine looks like that i manual vacuum 2x per day and backwash 2x or 3x times per day. I don't pay attention to pressure gauge, i just backwash. Keep up the slam and in 5 or 6 days it will clear.

I never add DE to my filter as i don't see a need for it. The sand will do the job. My pool is browner and greener than yours at open.

Just make sure to run your pump wide open all the time until clear. You will get there.

Right now, all your valves are open. We recommend 90% from skimmers and 10% The gate to close something off is on the opposite side of the handle. I assume the top valve is your skimmers and the bottom your main. If you turn the bottom handle so the handle arm is face 1-2 o'clock it will partially block the main giving you about 90/10 skimmer/main. Hope that helps.

If you are brushing dead algae to the main, open it up a bit, when done, return it.

Thank you. Do you think the valves are setting appropriately?

Still brushing towards the deep end. Can’t see to the bottom get. Are the valves set appropriately for trying get this slam done and where I’m at?

90/10 if you are not brushing stuff to drain. Both open if you are actively brushing.
Slam day 11! Up to 30 gallons of chlorine used. Still can’t see to the bottom of the deep end and the shallow end is cloudy. Staying the course. Having a party here on Sunday. What are the chances I’ll have be cleared up in 72 hours?!

*might be possible*, you are about 6...if the process is 1-10. Your best chance is if you can test and replace FC every 2 hours, 7am-10/11pm. My only slam was the week before 4th of July, first time pool owner. I was a slave. Every two hours, 7a to 11pm., I think I had 1 or two nights I stayed up until 2am...LOL I made it, but it was A LOT of work. This was one afternoon...

Problem is I’m not losing much FC. I check every 2-3 hours. Sometimes I don’t need to top off for 24 hours.

Yeah, this is the pool owners patience part. Sand filters just take longer. Don't let up..you are getting close.

Get some POOL DE and add it to the filter...

And take a few of these...

If the kids want to swim do you think it’s ok?

Day 12 and still at it. Deep end still isn’t clear. When I brush it’s kicking up some yellow. If it’s mustard algae should I increase the FC now to move this along?

No. You want to pass all 3 (regular) SLAM Process criteria first. Only then can you take the FC up to MA levels. Have you been taking a pic of the deep end each day to compare? Are you seeing any positive changes?

First picture is yesterday vs today. Granted the sun is shining on it today when yesterday was rainy.
