This is one very good reason for a robot cleaner. It removes debris from your system entirely. Think shop vac for your pool.

Interesting...by "robot cleaner" do you mean a cleaner that does not have a suction hose, so all debris is contained inside the cleaner, like a Roomba? I have a Poolvergnuegen ("The Pool Cleaner") currently.

There's a an in-line debris canister you can get for that situation.

Wow...that's interesting. Don't know how I feel about a constant extension cord across my patio but it's worth a look once mine dies. Seems like vacuums have come a long way in a short time.
