I’ve been frustrated by the changes in what I perceive in pressure in the system. I have a pool cleaner that says everything is fine but the cleaner moves around at different speeds. Sometimes very fast and sometimes slow. I took a video of the skimmer and I see things just going in and out of it. Not sure if that’s supposed to be like that. The filter was rinsed last week and all the valves checked. But something is off.should there be an in line gage somewhere to measure pressure? I something gets in the impeller how would one know?

Not so sure about your cleaner and pressure issue, but the skimmer definitely needs a weir door. Without the weir, the skimmer action is not nearly as efficient and yes, debris can go in & out.

Also, most pics can be blown up to see things better.
I can't tell for sure... Does your skimmer have a weir door, that floats up and down between the mouth of the skimmer and the basket?
