Hi - We just put in a pool. After reading the forum, I ordered the TF-Pro Salt test kit. I got it yesterday and just having time to read today. I'm either dumb or feeling overwhelmed because the instructions are not clear. Could someone help me? I'd like to know things like, for FC, do this... For CYA, do this. Anyway, I need to test it today and am not sure which tests to run, how to do it. I think I'm feeling overwhelmed. I'm not planning on having a pool service.

Thanks,
LaDonna

Hey LaDonna !!!

We've ALL been there. The instruction sheet looks like rocket science. But I promise you that every last step is stupid easy.

Take some scrap paper and block off everything but one test. Scan it and gather the bottles you'll need. Uncap and line them up in order of the steps, you don't even need to understand them yet.

Then, take one stupid easy step at a time. Such as 'fill vial to 10 ml' or 'add 5 drops of bottle X'.

I like to pick them up from my left and put them down to the right. Log that test result when done, clean up and move on to the next test.

Ask at any step and we can guide further. :)

Also, you may be missing the smart stir. I saw a post that they were backordered and hopefully shipping today (or very soon if not).

When you get it, it needs the included batteries and there is also a plus sign shaped 'pill', or a large pill shaped pill. You fill the vial with your sample, add the pill second, and press either button on the stirrer. It's magnetic and doesn't do anything if the vial is empty (with or without the pill). It had fooled many of us into thinking it's broken.

Once it's stirring away, add whatevs supplies as directed. (y)

Thanks to everyone who replied. Your post gave me the confidence to go out there and do it! Thanks a million. Now, I'll be posting my results to get an opinion.
