Thanks for the tip on the tropics mix, love it! Spend the entire day in the pool with the wife, got a bit too much sun, lol.
Still cant belive its done! Been brushing 2x perday and balancing chemisty. I took a look at the pump basket there is only about 10 little pebbes in there perhaps that additive really works. I am not seeing the dust much anymore but i think the rule of thumb is brushing 2x per day for ten days. Waiting for CYA to come up to help reduce chlorine consumption , these 90 degree days in full sun eat it up, ph has been staying about 7.4- 7.6. Water has been 86-87, perfect, love it.

Frank, i got a brush, pole, etc with the build. Looks like the standard nylon with blue plastic the top of the brush is aluminum. Its about 18" wide. There is one people call the whale tail i am going to look at but this one seems to do the job.

Wow, nice! Is that how a spillover should be? We have a spillover from our spa into the pool (about 3.5 ft) and we're worried about it dribbling etc...

How is your plumbing setup? I assume you get some dribble when the jets are on etc. but when the water feature itself is just on, it spills over nicely like thaT?

When it's in spa mode I get no water over the spillway most likely as nobody is going in the spa as we can't heat it for 30 days. That photo is a spillover program I set up to mix the spa and pool chemistry, it runs 2x per day for 30 mins. 7 am and 7 pm, right after I brush and add chemicals. I have the pump speed set at 2000 RPM for the spill over, I am sure I can set it lower and achieve the same sheer decent, I will just need to mess around with the pump speed to see how low I can go and still get a sheer decent. In this mode it's pool suction and spa return.

I like the depth, one thing to consider is if you go too shallow you lose the ability to float over it. I have a baja shelf that is almost 1/3 of my pool, I did not want to lose that much floating surface area. There are plastic chairs we looked at with the seat at about 12-14" so they are perfect for us to sit in. We aimed at 16-17" but ended up about 18" when all was said an done. They aren't going to nail it perfectly, well at least my builder does not understand basic measurements. a couple inches either way won't make a difference. I would shoot for 12" or 18" I think 12 is way too shallow for me, but at about 6'3" when I am sitting on the baja shelf the water is just under my chest. We tried different depths several times at our timeshare in Maui, I always came back to the 16-18" depth.

the chairs we got are the Adams Mfg Corp Resin Stackable Patio Adirondack Chair the seat is 14" high in the front and about 11-12" in the back. I don't plan to place a recliner in the water as you would need to go about 9-12" in water depth, that was too shallow for me.
YMMV.

Those ledge loungers look like the mackdaddy of reef chairs. I did see they are UV stabilized for 8000 hours of exposure, a little less than 3 years at 8 hours per day. Hopefully they go longer than that without discoloring for that price.
