A big thank you to everyone in this group for all of their great advice and suggestions. I have had the best summer yet in maintaining my pool, thanks to all of you.
I will be away for five days in August and while the home is being taken care of I have no one to do pool related activities. My pool has been clear and clean. I average losing about 2ppm of FC daily with a target of 5ppm. For the most part the solar cover quite a bit of time as we are retired and the grandchildren visits are only weekly.
Typical end of day numbers are:
FC 3
CC .5
CYA 40
pH 7.3
TA 80
On average I add about 2 quarts of 10% in the evening (give or take). I have quit a bit of 10% as a local store had some great prices (clearing invenory). I also have three cases of 12.5% looking to use them towards the end of the season near closing time.
With my daily deployment of about 2 quarts (using pool math) I was thinking of doing a slam of 12+ quarts to keep the pool happy while on vacation. I prefer not to use any tablets at all.
Your comments/suggestions are welcome.
Thanks, John.
