Both the inlet and outlet fittings on the pump will un-thread.Hey @1poolman1 i havent checked those pipes or o-rings, since i bought the house 2 years ago. One question as im about to inspect, do those pieces come off? Like i thought the unions would be glued on, how can i inspect the orings on those pipe pieces?
Remove the outlet as well and the pump will move. If there are no O rings between those parts, you will have nothing but leaks.Im unable to take it apart completely due to the way its piped
Hey @1poolman1 , thanks for the advice, whats the o ring part called? Meaning when i type in pentair oring on amazon, im getting the part for the pump lid.Remove the outlet as well and the pump will move. If there are no O rings between those parts, you will have nothing but leaks.

@1poolman1 finally getting back to this over the holidays. I just want to confirm the steps i tried, before i take apart the pump to replace the seals.
Your pump had/has a severe shaft seal leak, based on the condition of the motor. As counter-intuitive as it may seem, a bad shaft seal can also be the cause of a suction leak, sometimes preventing a pump from priming.Another update @1poolman1 , i might have found a potential issue. So the pump primes fine, i thought that there might be a clog in the skimmer pipes to the pump. When i took out the skimmer basket, i noticed the skimmer float valve kind of floating, so i took it out and noticed the flap on it is broken. Im also wondering if the pipes maybe clogged and its worth hydrojetting? Could this be a cause of the loss of pressure and air bubbles?
Thanks @1poolman1 , so i guess it does make sense then to go ahead and open up the pump seals and replace them with the new kit i got. I did by the drain king bladder, but regardless it sounds like the suction leak is on the pump side.Your pump had/has a severe shaft seal leak, based on the condition of the motor. Missing flap usually won't fit in the plumbing in a skimmer.
You can always try using a Drain King. Don't use a power jet as the plumbing may not be able to handle the pressure. Available at Home Depot or Amazon.
