I got a great deal (free) on a slightly used pentair variable speed pump (1.5). I am looking at buying a sand filter and I want to buy the right size. Pool size is 24 round x 52 above ground. Been reading on here a lot and it seems that bigger is better, and I want to get it right the first time. Any suggestions would be appreciated. And on a happy note, we have finally started on the ground work for the pool, hope to get it out of the garage soon. Thanks in advance and I hope that everyone is having a wonderful day!

19" or larger for the sand filter. Kinda wished I had pushed for a 20" or 22" filter when I put my pool in but I didn't know enough to push for it.
i would say 24 or 26 now with it being VS pump your good with a 22 or so but at full speed u will need a 26+ too strong for the smaller ones.
