Hi,

First off I’m very new to this so trying to figure this out. We recently installed a pool with Hayward pump and sand filter. I had relatives over who have 30+ years dealing with pools. We had an issue with vacuuming and they pointed out the pump wasn’t operating correctly .. so we tried (3) pumps total all doing the same thing.

So then we went to the sand filter took the top off and it appears something was broke inside ? Whatever is in the centre it seem broken off but not sure. We trested all settings and the filtering option was the only one without pressure.

We emptied it, cleaned it out - reinstalled and had the same issue on filter / no pressure.

Anyone have any idea ? Is it worth buying a new top to the filter or buy a whole new system!?

Picture won’t load it’s a Hayward Vari Flo XL valve

So the filter, in this case the Vari-Flo valve, is all relatively new correct? I would like to see how you have the plumbing connected to that valve. Pics sure would help. If you are on a phone and it's taking high-res pics ,you may need to temp adjust it to a lower resolution, or open a pic in your gallery and so a screen shot. Then upload that.

Hi - so we took the pool from a friend who purchased it 4.5 years ago with everything we even have receipts to show.

The plumbing is only temp. we wanted to get it running before running new electrical + plumbing and Building the deck.

But I emptied it put new sand and checked for clogs didn’t see anything.
