I have attached 3 pictures of my Sand filter media. I have no basis for my assumption but this Sand does not look "normal" to me. One - it looks extremely coarse and 2 - it is not the color I was expecting. Hoping some of the Pro's on here can provide some feedback as I get set to start up my pool?

Hard to say from pictures without feeling it.

I have myself wondering if it is Zeolite as I remember back in my early days using that as opposed to sand but thought that I had changed it back to sand (memory is a terrible thing to waste!!!)

I realize it is always easy to spend other peoples money but if I were in your shoes I would spend the 30-40 dollars and replace the sand if there is any question about its ability to perform its intended job.

My experience with deep cleaning the sand bed is it is a time consuming and messy job, well worth the 30-40 dollars to me to start over.
