Sand filter backwash pipinge

Ok so I am planning on running PVC underground to back of my property instead of using that stupid roll out hose and dealing with that anymore. Question is there is 1 1/2" PVC comming out can I downsize to 1" underground to the back of my property? Cost would be so much cheeper. Please help

Where is BARBERTON? Please add the state to ypur profile. And add you pool specs to your signature. This helps us to provide specific advise based on your local and equipment.

I don't think I'd go down in size. Using a smaller diameter pipe will reduce the flow rate. Have you looked at the price of 3" drainage pipe? It comes in smooth and corrugated. Some of the corrugated comes in 100' rolls. Home Depot, Lowes and others usually carry it.

Sorry located in Ohio I just changed that. But I have to dig to bury this pipe and I figured with 1 inch pipe wouldn't be so hard I'm using the 1 1/2 inch out just thought that I could possibly go down for the underground pipe I'm looking at. 50'

Unless you have a skinny shovel, you aren't going to notice much difference in digging for 1" pipe versus 1.5" pipe.
