I can share my old setup that had the flex PVC. It is “gluable” just like regular PVC, and I liked the idea of having some give but still having something more long lasting than the Intex hoses. I cut an old Intex hose so I could repurpose the gray “nut” at each end, so I could attach to Intex equipment.

I will not hard plumb this one yet, because I do not know what filter and pump I’m going to end up with. So I’ll probably reuse some of my former fittings where I can until I decide on my filter and pump and can do a permanent set up.

Can u take a pic of how u made the intex side fittings/ what u used. I still run 2 intex swgs for now.
 
Pool looks amazing. Congratulations. I had the Portifino liner in my first Sharkline Venture. I loved the liner. It'll sparkle when it's full and the sun is on it.

I bought this liner after the house was destroyed by the fire last year. I wasn't sure if I was going to put the pool up after moving into the new house or not. It was the only liner I could find and they only had 2 left so I bought it. It was a bit pricey at almost $700.

Yikes, I remember you having trouble finding a liner with all the shortages last year. But I think that liner is going to look amazing in the sunlight - can’t wait to see you get that pool up! I propose a cross-country round of frosty beverages poolside when you do!

Hey, my work has started - I got to my office at 7:40am!

In fact, I went out myself this morning, before the sun even peeked over the trees, to get a photo. Here you go! That is dew, by the way, not rain!

I’ll describe process in a bit.

Ok, so to make an adapter that will allow you to connect the flex PVC with Intex fittings, cut an old Intex hose to get to the two gray hose nuts. Purchase a couple of 1.5 box adapter fittings (got mine at Lowe’s) and lightly sand the flared end to get the raised letters smoothed out. It sands very easily so don’t go crazy!

Using a 1.5” inch coupling, fit the non-flared end of connector through a gray hose nut (be sure to orient it so that it will screw onto pump or valve correctly, and fit the other end of coupling onto the flex PVC. Once you are sure everything connects properly, pull apart again, and use PVC glue and primer to glue everything together. Apply it evenly to both pieces you are fitting together, and when you push the two sides together, give a 1/4 twist to be sure you have a good watertight seal. IMPORTANT- make sure the hose nut turns freely the whole time! Don’t get any glue on it!

Do same process for the other end of your flex PVC hose.

If you have the spare rubber gasket/rings from when you connected your Intex hoses, use them when you connect these new hoses. If you don’t, you can buy a sheet of the gasket material and make your own.

Let everything dry, then connect and test. If you get any slight dripping, use a bit of pool lube on the threads then reconnect and tighten again.

I have the same liner. Looks great. Mine has severely faded over the last two years. Bottom is mostly white now. still holds water so all is good. 15 years, this might be the last season for the pool.

Which liner, mine or Casey’s?

Is it just the liner that needs replacing, or the whole pool? I got SUPER lucky and caught a great sale on mine - price has gone up since I bought.
