Yep @kimkats and I are robot twins!! Lil Kim and Miss Queeny lol! You need one now!Lil’ Kim... that is purrfect!
The homeowner is responsible for the permits here. You should have a dedicated circuit for your pump & also general use outlet for other things.Pool will arrive sometime next week!! They’ll call me for date and time.
I‘m setting up appointments for electrician (since I’m moving location to different spot, I want an outlet in that area), ground leveling, (like I said earlier, as God is my witness, I will never do my own leveling again), and I’m looking for installers to quote me.
I haven’t had any time to ponder pumps and filters yet, but until I do, there’s no reason I can’t just hook up my current system, is there? Pool is an 18’ by 54” round, so a bit bigger than current, but the one I have still works fine.
Also haven’t had time to consider a cleaner yet. That is another item on to-do list.
Foam cove, ordered and on way.
Sand, researching that now.
For permit, installer usually files for that, correct?
Definitely not! I am curious if you will have any metal parts - like the ring the wall sits in? Won’t know until u open her up. But I would still plan on running the bonding wire around the entire pool - even if its only connected at the wall bolts or skimmer. As for the 2 circuits- its a good idea to always have more power than u think u need. For instance i have one outlet for my timer that my pump is on & then one for my 2 swg’s. If i get a robot i will need somewhere to plug it in as well as my skimmer pool light. That’s 5 things. If I upgrade my swg to one unit i will only have 4 things.I checked the code here - either homeowner or installer can secure permit.
I do have an outdoor outlet not near the pool location that we use for power tools and such, but I need one closer to pool location.
I have to read up on the bonding some more. Do not want what happened to @eyedoc_01 where they drilled through his resin uprights!![]()
I used to have that same cleaner! It worked great and was such a great value for the money!! I still have it as a backup after getting my Pool Rover Junior robot for Christmas in 2019 lol. But for only $50 (bought on Amazon a couple years ago), I was really surprised by how well the Intex automatic cleaner worked!!The homeowner is responsible for the permits here. also i use my intex automatic cleaner
“wall-E” on my 33’ above ground pool ( i just used some extra intex hoses i had laying around to extend his reach & used some pvc fittings to attach him to the jet.
I am still using my intex swg as well.View attachment 175506View attachment 175507

Wow! Congrats on the new pool!I think the only metal will be where the skimmer is, and the wall bar
Thank you for the robot recommendation, I’ll take a look!
Sooo your new robot needs a pink scarf loosely painted on her front and she should be named "Betty Rizzo" to go along with Lil Kim and Ms Queenie.
Better than all the SNOW we have in central Ohio! My Intex is completely frozen!!Stupid weather! I was hoping to finish draining and take pool down, but I’m not doing it in the rain!
