Salt level in SWG vs Taylor Test Kit

My SWG shows 2500 (below min, lights flashing and reduced efficiency), taylor salt test kit reads 3400. I've tried reseting the SWG.

I would just add more to make the SWG happy but 3400 is already kind of high.

What is going on here?
 
How old is the cell?
You can run the diagnostics as shown in Hayward Aquarite SWG - Further Reading

Typically, once reported salinity divided by actual salinity is 0.75 or lower, it is time for a new cell.

You can change the cell type to a T9 and the cell may work for a short period of time. It will be outputting less chlorine.
