Salt level 3600 last week and 4000 today! Causes?

Just tested my chlorine again. Perhaps I am more experienced at test #2 than yesterday but 5 drops until pink turned to clear and 1 drop extra for the combined. Things seem to be progressing fast. Today is Sunday. I am not free to do the Vit C until next Friday. Should I turn the SWG back on or get ready to use algaecide so things don't get out of hand.

Did you push the Check Mark at top right after adding your test numbers? That saves the data and viewable in either the summary screen or the logs screen at bottom of app
Yes I did. Does that send info to this forum?
Chlorine 2.5 ppm
CC .5 ppm

Yes I can see your test results that are linked. However, I notice that your logs state 35k gal pool and your states 20-30k gal. For PM to provide you the right info as to how much chemical to add the volume needs to be as accurate as is feasible. Do you have a rectangular pool or a freeform pool?

I would wait 4 hrs and test FC and CC again. If it is still at 2.5ppm and you are not able to do the AA treatment until next Friday it would be best to turn the SWCG back on and ensure you maintain the proper FC for your CYA level.

Its been some time since I thought about the exact size pool in gallons and I apparently grossly overestimated it
The pool is 36 x 18 and about 3.5 min to 5 feet max. So I grossly overstated it. Its between 18000 to 20000 gallons (Not perfect rectangle)

I checked your calculations and come up with similar so I see you put in 20k and think that is a good starting point for you.

Thanks. We can discuss more of this when you need to add MA or something similar and see if you get the results expected with the 20k gal volume.
Have you tested your FC and CC this early evening?
I did and they were similar so for the safety of the pool I put the chlorinator back on and plan to shut if off Wednesday again and hopeful do the wash next weekend

so now is a good time to get familiar with the PM app and setting the SWCG.
Go to effects of adding on menu (top left) - select SWCG. Then you can choose to input type of SWCG and pump run time and it will output expected FC ppm over a 24 hr period. Or you can input a desired FC - such as 2ppm per day and it will output the hours the pump must run. Also, this is all based on the pool volume which you are estimating at 20k.

I am just getting familiar with the app. I purchased it this weekend. I will follow your suggestions. Stay tuned. Meanwhile I need to get my acid down and for what it is worth since I still have a pool service I will ask them to bring pH down to 7.1 7.2 range for the ascorbic acid wash.

Just remember to stay on top of your PH in addition to asking your pool service. With a TA of 120 PH rise is going to be quick and depending on when they make they adjustment, you may find you'll have to readjust it before starting the AA treatment.

Sorry but how do I link to my user info and sig. Is this info included in poolmath on the web?
Your sig and user info is on each post that you do. Look below your name and also at the bottom of the post. Those will be on every post you do. They are edited in your profile.

Only your Pool Math logs from the app are linked to your user name. You have already done that. Click on your user name and it will show POOL MATH LOGS.

TY....I thought it was also sharing SWG info but I now realize it is not.
