Salt Cell scale cleaning

Now that the SWG is done with its job with the cold weather, looking to clean up the cell. I see white scale in it. Please share TFP best practices and what pitfalls to avoid and not damage anything.

Vinegar option sounds least harmful to the circuitry. Question on the actual steps, once I remove the cell do I need to spray the vinegar solution somehow onto the plates and it will dissolve the scale? Don't think soaking the whole cell in vinegar solution will be a good idea.

I think it is worth removing the cell and seeing if you can scrape off the scale using a stick in between the plates. Maybe a vinegar soak. No acid though.
