Salt Cell not full of water

Another question is how full should the swg be of water? 100% full? Mine covers the fins but not much higher than that. Is that normal?
I would like to add that I am having a similar issue with mine after I plumbed a heater. Water in the TruClear is right around the top of the fins. I was also seeing a small amount of bubbles coming out of the returns and yesterday my cell died. Not sure if it was due to the water level, but I have the Check Cell warning now. I have a VS pump and when I crank it up it mostly removes the air in the cell, but it also shows the cover has some leaks.

What is the salinity and how are you measuring it?
I have strips, and I will have to check but I doubt its the salt level. Has more to do with air being in the cell. First year or 2 there wasn't much air in the cell, this year not only did I add the heater and bypass which has slowed down the GPM but the TruClear lid is leaking where the clear plastic meets the surrounding black plastic. A common issue, I believe the lid is leaking too much, which now has the water level in the cell exposing the top of the fins and that is causing the Check Cell or has fried the cell. This is the 4th season with the cell so it seems to be failing right on time.

It just dawned on me that this is why the manufacturers recommend mounting them in a vertical orientation. That space in there is likely very high in hydrogen gas content. Mounting it vertically would keep that from accumulating.

When I had a SWG with a clear case and it was mounted horizontally, I never had any air in it. But I didn't have a VSP. I can see where a VSP at low speed could allow the gas to build up.

I've never personally heard of a SWG exploding but I know it can happen. I guess to be safe, one could always keep the VSP on a higher speed while the SWG is running if it's mounted horizontally.

How many gallons in your pool?

In my opinion the TruClear is a lower cost and lower quality product then the Jandy Aquapure system.

If you had a signature listing your pool equipment I would comment if you should be considering other SWG models.

My salinity is ok and I replaced the cell which is chlorinating fine but also collecting air. The check valve right before has no air. Pics attached

I think I read somewhere with circupools RJ60 cell if it's being used in a vsp setup and the cell will be horizontal you can flip the hump to the bottom so even at lower rpms the plates will be completely submerged.

You can't do that with this cell because it uses a "gas trap" design to detect "flow".

You would defeat the safety feature.
