Safe to recirc without sand or lateral assembly?

Hi all

Waiting on new lateral assembly. Until then I need to keep the water moving so I can chlorinate and get CYA to where it needs to be.

Will recirc work (safely) without the lateral pipes or sand?

Yes. Your filter will just be a wide spot in the pipe is all.

If the filter has a multiport valve, set it to recirculate and then run the pump.

If you only have a push/pull backwash valve, you should be able to run the pump as the filter has no sand or lateral assembly. Just be sure to drain and clean out the filter housing prior to installing the lateral assemly or sand.
