Rx Clear Filter Balls

Jim I thought I was the only one with OCD that did that. My wife just shook her head the first time she asked me what I was doing. :laughblue:
I don't think it's a bad idea, especially since I have already found two snakes in the pool. NO way I want to stick my hand in the basket not knowing what *might* be waiting for me!

Wow! That definitely looks like the stuff I clean out of my filter every month. These hairnets are going to be a godsend.

Hopefully my pump doesn't tear them ?
Our pump moves water VERY rapidly when on high and I haven't had it tear one yet.

Here is an example of how well the hairnet work for me. This is a "before/after" picture; the "after" was after removing the big stuff with the net and running my pump on high for 3 hours. Granted, the wind is gusting to almost 40 MPH, so it's usually *not* this bad...but it illustrates the amount of stuff that isn't going to the pump basket and/or filter. 1.jpg

Doesn’t that long handle unscrew from the main basket?
I don't think that it does. Then again, I don't think that I have looked. I will take a gander and get back to you on it, though.

Edit: Well, wouldn't you know...it does screw off. I learn something new everyday! I think I will leave it on since I can see if any creepers are waiting for me...especially the of the snake variety.

Yeah, if that handle comes off, just use the grab bar I see under the hairnet instead of the tower.
Just like the way I have mine setup.

That way all the debris stays IN the basket.
Right now you have a hairnet TeePee. :ROFLMAO:

I haven't looked, but I assume the bar just pulls off and snaps back in?

I found it's easier to clean my filter with a small pressure washer. I bought a small electric just for that purpose, has a wide fan spray and not too much pressure..I also have a TON of tree's and had to clean mine a lot but trying skimmer nets this year to see if that helps

Some folks have recommended this tool. I have one, but haven't used it yet.

Actually Eng, it just dawned on me what that tower is. That’s an aftermarket basket from This
company, so that handle may not come off.
So you may need to grab a couple of regular baskets like the one in my picture to achieve the same end result.
