Rounding the Corner... Install Completed 7/27/13

Haven't done much but set 6 post in total. I know we're slow but I've been moving my mom, daughter and granddaughter this week and I won't get to work on it til next week. I feel like I'm running a marathon! Working, moving them, resting a couple hours n going back to work. I've been up since yesterday morning n I've got to go til tomorrow morning. Sunday was our day to finish the post but that's the day I will have to move the big stuff like dressers. Ugh.... no progress on my deck! Boooooo!

For those interested... Here are some pics of our beautiful granddaughter. She's coming for a visit with us for on Sunday evening. She was kissing me up and down today and so happy to see me. I love my kids with all my heart and when this little one came into my life, it was like the love I have for my kids but 10 times stronger! Must be a Grandma's love... or in my case, LaLa's Love!

Casey,

I just read through this thread and had to stop reading. I was reading about how you were digging out the dirt yourself and your husband just thought you were crazy…but that you had visions of your pool and how you all would enjoy it. It was so similar to me and my hubby right now and I just love him so much. He's such a great partner and dad and I can't imagine and do NOT want to imagine life without him.

I'm so glad that you and Jim are able to enjoy your pool! How awesome! I'm sure you are cherishing every moment together. Enjoy enjoy enjoy!

Thank you speakerbox! He is my life. I have never been able to look at a man and call him my best friend but this guy, he is my best friend! I cherish him and I'm so lucky to have him with me. I can't believe we're almost at the 1 year mark. I updated the pics but I can't read what I wrote either. It is still so raw. I just want to move on and enjoy what I've been so graciously blessed with and our new granddaughter! She just turned a year old on May 16th. We just love her to pieces and I know I can't wait for another grandbaby!

Get to Work !!!!
:whip::whip:

I'm at work right now... for the next 12 hours... and then... instead of working on things I need to do, my mother and daughter have me tied up in their business. Believe me, I won't have a seat all day tomorrow unless you count the truck and moving 2 people = work in my book. Not the kinda work I want though! I hate moving people!!! It is the WORST thing in the world to me. I only have my son helping me which helps but I feel so overwhelmed. And MOTHER wants moved NOW! Did I mention NOW is while I'm right in the middle of my 12 hour work week? :grrrr: Just remember... you can sleep when you're dead. :goodjob:

She is precious! I love redheads! Got two redheads myself! And yah..get to work when you can..we want to see!! :p

My sister was a red head. She passed away 2 years ago at 36. She was a natural, right down to the fair skin that burns to a crisp. I have 2 nieces with red hair. One is fire engine red and the other is a strawberry blonde. My granddaughter looks more blonde to me but the sun pulls the red. I'm a brunette, ashy mouse brown with silvers but in the sun, I pull a lot of red. My brother was snow white blonde as a baby but now, he's a light brown and he's got a red beard. The red definitely runs through our family.

My husband is tickled pink with her Mac. He always wanted a little girl but just had his son so her being here has filled a piece of his heart. I was with her yesterday and as I went up in her room, she was sleeping and before I could get past her momma's bed, she sat up, saw me and started clapping her hands! I snagged her up and gave her so many kisses! She's been puckering up to me. Then her momma gets jealous because she pushes her away. I can not wait to get this move out of the way tomorrow because I'm bringing her home with me so her momma can get their room put together. MAYBE I'll take her back Tuesday morning!

P.S. She's going to be my little huntress!

Didn't get any work done on the deck this week. Ugh... I have been so busy with the move and had the baby for 2 days. I just want to go to bed but have to clean my house now!

Sunday n Monday we will be working on the deck!

Well, when things can go wrong, they do. I'm certainly not exempt from this fact of life. I have about 8ft of gravel up against the garage that I can't get through to set post without the hole filling back up with gravel. I told Jim, I'm done with it! I'll be removing gravel, using it elsewhere and ordering dirt to be hauled in to plant plants and such along side of the garage. I'm scoop over it!

This is where the steps will go, up to the deck. And all that space I'm having a check of a time setting post in. I'm so sick of this deck already!!!

I wish me and a couple friends could come up there and help ya. Hate to see you having a struggle with that deck.
It will pay off in the long run though. When I built my fence, my pool and did all the landscaping, I pretty much did it all by myself. There were certainly were times when I thought if I had to shovel one more shovel full of dirt, or dig 6 more inches of trench........

Hang in there!

Thanks Dave! I'm hanging til it's done! It'll be so nice when the last nail n screw is driven! I just got to keep thinking, it's worth all the pain, sweat n attitude I develop over this!

The deck was the hardest part of our pool project. We started in 2010 and still have a section of deck to finish! Plus, I still need to stain everything. I don't think I'll ever get done. Hang in there and go slow and easy. Not worth hurting your shoulder any more than it already is.
