Hi, good day all. Question: have A bad glue joint on a 2" tee with a flow switch in it. The original is a 2" tee with reducers on both sides for the 11/2" plumbing that runs before and after. Can I use a 11/2" T and just plumb without reducers or must I use back a 2 inch and use reducers.TIA,
Allan

Use the 2” and reducers…

From

A flow switch is activated by water velocity and not actual flow.

The flow switch comes with a T that is designed to provide the correct velocity to match the flow.

Use the T that is provided by the manufacturer so that the flow switch is correct.

For example, if the T is 2", the flow is 25 gpm and if you switch to a 1.5" T, the new flow is activated at 14 gpm.

+1 That T is a 2"S X 3/4" FIP X 2" S. The flow switch will not fit a 1.5" T that has a 3/4" tap its too long for that size T, and I've never seen one, though they may exist.
