I'm planning to replace my ancient Polaris AutoClear plus with a CircuPool RJ-45+, but I can't seem to find the specs for the cell and I'd prefer to buy a unit that fits in my current plumbing, if possible. Are the length and threads for cells standard or does each company use different specs?

Not that I'm aware of. I've seen several members here do just that due to limited space.
