I recently upgraded my 20+ Jandy JI8000 to an Aqualink RS. That went great. This year one of the relays stopped working for my main pump. I have it working with my spa relay, but I will be changing the relay. When I upgraded the Jandy unit, I did not change the relays. They are a different shape. Do I switch my relay box to use the newer relays? My main pump motor is 2HP and the old relays are only rated for 2HP, while the new ones are rated for 3HP. Does this matter? Do I should make some sort of adapter to use the newer relays in my old box? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Your motor has a total HP over 2 with 2 HP and a service factor (SF) or 1.32 giving a THP of 2,64,
You are probably pushing more current through those 2HP elays then it was designed for.

I think that your existing board looks like this.
You can see the black mark where the existing relay burned up.
You might be able to change to a different relay if you can find a safe way to mount it in the box.

You made excellent observations. The black mark is at the broken relay. I really should use the relay from Digikey. It has the higher specs. I might attempt to design an adapter on a 3D printer.
You can replace the relay board with two of the new style relays. I have used good double-sided tape to mount them in the area left when the board is removed, or
on the other side of that cabinet if you only want to replace one. The boards use 4 single pole relays. Your new one is a double pole that takes the place of two.

Double sided tape might be a good choice. I think 3M is supposed to make very strong tape.
