New pool owner and the pool has two stains at the bottom. I got the pool water tested at Leslie's and it doesn't seem to be metalic. Any suggestions on how to remove these?
Welcome to the forum!
Get some Vitamin C tablets. Put them in a thin sock/panty hose and crush them up a bit. Set it on the stain.
If it disappears, it is iron -- might be a wire tie or piece of rebar near the surface of the plaster.
I suggest you read ABC's of Pool Water Chemistry.
looks like vitamin c does lighten the stain. Should i rub away the stain with tablets or would you recommend something else? The stains are fairly large - should i watch out for anything?
If you can do it with the tablets that is easiest. To treat the entire pool, you do an AA treatment. Best done when the pool water is cold. The vitamin C eats chlorine, so watch your FC.
