Just finishing a round of Slam. I'll backwash and rinse the pump. Should I add some more DE after backwash? How can I tell if the pool opener guy put in enough?

If you backwash a DE filter, you will always need to recharge it.
Coming off a SLAM, you would be best served to take the filter apart and do a full clean. You would need to add the correct amount of DE in this case too.
