Hi all,
This is my first season as a pool owner, and been having trouble with iron stains. I have a 15,000 gal pool, vinyl liner, sand filter. I finally removed the stains, using absorbic acid and some Vitamin C tabs. I also used a filter aid, a CUlator pack and a chelating agent to hopefully remove the iron at the filter level. And I'll be using a sequestrant to hopefully keep the metals in the water.
The stains first showed up when I shocked the pool. And most of these stain removal products say to shock the pool as little as possible.
So I'm wondering, how should I go about raising chlorine without re-staining the liner? In addition, what should I do about shocking the pool? How often?
Just wondering if anyone has experience with preventing metal stains long term.
Thanks in advance
