Hi,

Q1:
I'll be replacing a single speed Century motor fitted on a Pentair WFE-3 with a Pentair Whisperflo (011533). Existing installation has an elbow connected to the pump's inlet. I would like to rotate the pump 90 degrees and run a 10" straight run as mentioned in the installation manual. What is the recommended way to remove the elbow connected to the diverter valve ? I saw some youtube videos using a heat gun.

Q2: I was trying to understand the plumbing. See attached drawing. Valve V2 seems to be allowing water from the bottom towards the pump. V1 is in Off mode. Correct?

Thanks in advance

I would not worry about the straight pipe requirement.

If you want to change the plumbing, the outside of the valve will take a fitting.

I think that your outside will take a 2.5" fitting.
