Pump Size help

16x36 15,000 Gal pool with 1 Skimmer 4 returns and 6 therpy jets and spa blower, AquaCal t115. Is a 1.5HP VS pump enough.

The great thing about VS pumps is that it is almost impossible to go too big...

What size plumbing goes to the pump now?

I always worry that with a Spa a small pump might not give you the amount of jet power you might want.

The bigger the pump the slower you can run it yet still pump the same amount of water...

Most VS pumps come in two basic sizes.. 1.5 HP that has 1.5" plumbing and 3 HP that has 2" plumbing..

It will have 1.5 plumbing. No spa but the pool will have spa jets on the benches

In that case, I think the the 1.5 HP will work fine, but just to be clear... the 3 HP pump would also work... They really should call VS pumps, variable horsepower pumps, because that is what they are.. You only use the amount of HP that you need...
