Hi! Looking into replacing my current pump (Hayward Power-Flo Matrix 1 HP) after the season. Recommendations? The filter is the Hayward XStream CC100.

What is the motivation for replacing the pump? Why not just get another Matrix? They come in a two speed as well.
It's developed some rust on the outside and I'm concerned about it becoming damaged to the point that it impacts performance.

Exterior rust is usually not much of a problem. Pumps either work or they don't. There really isn't much decrease in performance as they age.
How old is the pump?
Should the motor fail, you can just replace the motor. The wet end of a pump can last for many decades.

Unless the bearings are making a lot of noise, I wouldn't be too concerned. Bearing noise is usually a pretty good predictor of eminent motor failure.
