Was wondering how long you should leave pump running and should you do that at night or during the day or does it matter? Wondered if should be running when people are in the pool or if that matters either.

Does not really matter when you run it.
Minimum run time is 30-60 minutes prior to testing and 30-60 minutes after adding your chemicals.
Longer run times may be warranted for skimming, heating, or chemical addition purposes.

Oh okay. I was thinking it needed to run for like 6-8 hours at a time
