Pump Pressure questions

I have a Pentair VSF pump. I have it set up to max out at 80gpm. I run it at 35gpm 24/7. At this speed, the pressure gauge never moves. I have never noticed any issues with diminished flows. I have been just backwashing whenever the water level needs to be dropped due to rain, but would prefer to be a little more in control. I FEEL as if I should run it up to 80gpm (I have a function button set to do this) with all of the return valves open (main return, bubbler, and waterfall), note that pressure right after backwash, and every now and then, do that again and compare. Is this correct?

Your rpm will increase if your filter begins to plug using rate for your settings. So monitor that. You can run a higher rpm to record pressure data if you like.
