Pump for my parents' pool

My mother called me this morning -- she said Pinch-a-Penny said she needs a new pump at 2K. I told her not to do anything. I installed the same pump I have not too long after I installed mine. I don't see it being bad. Maybe a replacement motor. I can say that after Pinch-a-Penny worked on their pool a few years ago, they've had a consistent issue with flow -- that pump doesn't fill. Frankly, I don't really look when I'm over.

Anyway, if it does need a new pump, or if it makes more $$ sense to replace it than repair -- what's a decent motor for them. Honestly, at this stage, it's aesthetic. They don't go in -- 79 and 82.

She have a Hayward SP3400VSP? That is an EcoStar pump.

You cannot easily replace a motor on a VSP. You can install a single speed motor to replace the VSP motor and drive.

Is the pump controlled by automation? If not install a Calimar/B&D VS pump.

Assume it has no warranty at a good price...
