Pump anomoly?

I have 3 returns in the pool. On 2 of them I have installed Yippee Skippy type cooler fountains. I have noticed that in the morning when the pump starts, the output from the cooler pipes, as judged by the height of the spray is much reduced compared to what it is a few minutes later. Does the VS pump gradually build up pressure? What is going on?

The VS should reach full speed in 1-2 seconds. If it is changing height over minutes, it is likely the filter. Check the filter pressure and see if it is also changing over that time period. If it starts high and then goes low, that could be the cause. However, if it starts low and then goes high, it could be something to do with the pump or suction lines.
