Protecting liner track from concrete

I’m in the home stretch of a major re-build. I’m preparing to attach 3” liner track to the top of the pool walls and need tips on how to keep concrete out of the actual track during the deck/coping pour? Thinking of tape or filling the track with nylon cord that can be pulled out when the coping is done.

I really like the idea of the rope. To be on the extra safe side I would also put tape over it.
