Hi All - I wanted to ask if this is the proper lube to use to create a tight seal on my aquador skimmer lid. I have The aladdin Magic Lube II Silicon lubricant. Is that the correct thing to use? If so would you rub some of it on the actual skimmer edges or on the aquador itself to create a tight seal. Trying to avoid water leaking through like it was and it was creating ice in my skimmer.

Also is waterproof grease useful for apply to when i change the return fitting to plug it so I can then unscrew it easier? Thanks

Stuff cut up pool noodles in your skimmer to create a crush zone for ice. Then don’t worry about water and ice in the skimmer.

Don't use silicone. Use pool lube (Polytetrafluoroethylene)

It may or may not be OK on the aquador, but you don't want to use silicone on silicone o-rings, it will make them swell.

I just buy "pool lube" at the pool store, and use it for anything around the pool that needs any sort of lubrication. I use a plug in my skimmer, and I put an extremely thin film of it on the edges when I installed it.
