glx-pcb-pro. Firmware on my board is 4.10. Replaced original 2 speed pump with Tristar VSP. Need a hex copy of firmware 4.30 or later as those have all the features to control vsp’s. If you have pickit and used instructions from forum to upgrade firmware to 4.30 or later please respond. Thank you

Why can't you get the firmware update from Hayward?

@JamesW any ideas on this update?

The TriStar VS 950 pump can communicate with and be controlled by Hayward pool controls such as OmniLogic™,
ProLogic®, E-Command® 4, and OnCommand®. Minimum software revision requirements: OmniLogic R1.0.0,
ProLogic 3.00, OnCommand 1.00, E-Command 2.65, E-Command 4 2.80, AquaLogic 2.65, and AquaPlus 2.65. To
determine Hayward control software revision, consult the appropriate Hayward pool control installation manual or
visit our website at www.haywardpool.com.

Trust me, I tried. I called Hayward support, they had no idea what I was talking about and told me to purchase a new main board. I called 2 local authorized Hayward dealers/service locations and same response. EE Pool has a very good post / guide on how to do this and I’m certain I could do it myself.
Anyone tried uploading / downloading firmware from Hayward GLX-PCB-MAIN boards?
Strange in that same post some folks commented on a Hayward technician coming out to update the firmware on their main board but anyone i call in my area doesn’t have a clue or doesn’t want to consider doing that. I’d pay whatever the service visit costs…couldn’t be half as much as a new main board. I know my board is a “pro” that can be updated. AllI need is the hex dump of 4.30 or later from someone that has it.

And I have the comm wires hooked up, jumpers on pump board set to remote control of hayward automated control boards. In firmware 4.10 there are no settings for a vsp so it was fruitless but i tried anyway. I could wire /program my ps-4 for 2 speed control but again that defeats purpose of vsp. Currently in order to utilize full functionality and ALL speed settings of my Tristar VS and still have chlorination, valve control, and heater functions I have resorted to “tricking” my pro logic board into thinking it was running my pump but instead use the vs control for various pump speeds which isn’t practical. I’ve even considered purchasing a new board with full intent on returning it after using ee pools guide to copy the firmware from it.

The TriStar VS pump can communicate with and be controlled by the Hayward Pro Logic pool control (SP3200VSPND only). The ProLogic must have a minimum software revision of 4.41 or higher.

This reference says 4.41, which is different from other references.

What exact model pump do you have?

Hayward W3SP3206VSP TriStar VS Variable-Speed Pool Pump, 2.7 HP

It has a century sticker on it though

anyone have a spare GLX-PCB-PRO board with 4.41 or
higher firmware they can ship to me so I can copy firmware and i’ll ship back? I will pay shipping both ways. That or the hex dump of firmware itself using ee pools guide?

I think that the controls for a VSP are there.

amaybe I should clarify: In the filter settings I can change pump type to vsp, however it only allows 2 speeds to be set low and high. I know firmware revisions 4.3 or later allow multiple speed settings (more than low/high) and can utilize more features for a tristar vs pump.

You will find that 2 speeds are usually sufficient. Even though the pump is capable of 8, at most only 3 are used in virtually all installations.
100% and 50% are what it gives me. No adjustability. 100% is far too loud and too much flow to be running it for long periods(not to mention the additional stress on the motor and pump) And it doesn’t produce enough flow at 50% to run heater or superchlorinate. I could get away with 2 speeds if I could adjust the high down to (I’m guessing) around 70-80%. The only thing i’d use low for is filtration when not heating or superchlorinating.

Thanks. I’m just going to bite the bullet and purchase a new main board. then i’ll use ee pools guide to copy the firmware from that and post on this site for others to use / update their pro boards at their discretion .

did you ever get the board or firmware? I am looking for v4.4x if you got your hands on it? I have 4.20 if that can work for you, let me know how to do the dump and I can send to you
I am still waiting on a pickit 3 I ordered cheap on ebay and is being shipped from China. Don’t mean to sound rude but why would I want /need ver 4.20 from you if I already have a later version board? Do you have pickit 3 chip programmer yourself so if I sent the updated software dump you could program yourself? I purchased a new board that i’m returning for a refund as soon as I read the updated firmware off of it using the pickit 3 (when the pickit 3 reader / programmer arrives next week) Then I’m reprogramming / updating firmware on the chip of my existing board.
