Pressure gauge orientation

Hi all,

I need a new pressure gauge as mine gets foggy and fills with water. I'd like to get this one: Pressure Gauge Glycerin filled 2.5" Bottom Mount but I'm wondering if it needs to be upright to work properly.

This is the way my current one is:

I'd like to keep it that way because if I put a rear mount one on it'll be facing the wrong way. I'd have to lean over the pump (there's a fence right next to it) to see it but it would still be tough to get head on for an accurate reading.

So, the question is: will that bottom mount glycerin gauge still work properly if it's sideways or does it need to be upright?

Thanks!

Upright would be best. You can add a short brass nipple and brass elbow so the gauge orientation is vertical.
