Pre pool opening (white water mold)

Cleaned out the cover drain yesterday - ewe
Last test was 8:30 pm fc 22.5 added 20 oz
8:30 this am fc 23 cc 0.5
Intend to continue to test and maybe, just maybe she will hold 24 today

My additions are pretty minimal at this point (13 oz) do I need to leave cover open x amount of time between adding and closing ?
Thx

Water is crystal clear
Cc has stayed very consistent at 0.5
Been adding Lc every 2 hours all day (usually 6 am to 8pm) accordingly

Last night 8:30 fc 22.5
Today 9 am fc 23

Will there come a time that I hit my slam target and hold it for a period of time ? Am I looking to hold 24 for x hours with no loss?

No loss minus the daily UV loss. It sound like you're about there and should move on to OCLTs. Last night went up a bit so it's screwy and I wouldn't trust it. Give it a go tonight if all traced of the gunk is gone.

You want 1 or less loss FC and .5 or less CC.

What is Langelier saturation index ?

I received an email about my fiberglass care says chlorine over 5 ppm for superchlorination etc needs to have LSI 0 . Or can cause damage to pool surface

Is this relevant

It’s similar to the CSI in pool math. But. It related to any chlorine levels.

You may never hit 24 if the chlorine starts degrading right after you add it. I’m going to assume you added some after the 22.5 measurement?

Do an official OCLT like above and report results. Don’t add any more chlorine after your last test for the night or before your morning test. If the loss overnight is 1.0ppm or less, AND the water is clear, AND there is 0.5CC or less then you are done with the SLAM.

Yes I add every time because it’s never 24
There has only been one test that I did not add and that was when I tested 15 min after addition.(to check if chlorine was degraded) That’s the only time I’ve seen 24

I just realized I should prob do that 15 min test with each new bottle!?
I bought it all at the same time which I’m sure means nothing

Got it . Im fine with a few more days of this if it seals the deal. I mean I’d hate to come this far to have to start over.

Was just confused on the 24 .
Im like pool …. I will camp out right here and pour chlorine in every 15 min but you are going to 24!

You need to finish OCLT with 1 or less from where you started.

Starting at 26 and ending at 24 is a loss of 2, which fails. The 24 by itself isn't a pass. :)

P.S. Bargaining is the first stage of denial and TOTALLY normal. Imma duck now because anger is next and I don't want to catch any flying objects upside the head. :ROFLMAO:
It would start degrading because there is still gunk somewhere I can’t see ?
During the SLAM, yes. At the end you should reach target if the bleach is fresh.
