I have a pentair intelliflo 3hp, VSpump and it wont start/run. I have power going to pump but no continuity between phase to phase. Its open on both phases on the motor side. Please help!
*** Edit*** Jim types faster than I do. Didn't see his post. He's an expert on this pump, do what he says.
If you verified power with a meter you may be in for a new motor and/or pump. Please provide details on how you tested. If you need a new motor you'll need to decide to replace pump and motor or just motor. I'd do the later because you've got a great pump that should last for 2 motors. We have experts here that can provide advice if you want to DIY it and know how to deal with 240v. If not we can advise on getting best value pricing for replacement.
I used a fluke multimeter. Yes, I tested L1 and L2 at the pump and was getting 240. I then checked continuity and got an open circuit. The pump motor display is blank/off.
If you are checking continuity at L1/L2 you are not checking the motor. In VS pumps power gores through the electronics in the drive before it gets to the motor. All you are seeing on your meter is some electronic circuitry in the drive.
If the pump is dead and display does not light when you have power to the pump you have a failed drive. They are not repairable and cost $600-$700 to replace.
