I have a four-year-oldPentair Intelliflo Vsf Pool Pump 011056. Upon returning from my work trip, I was informed that our pool pump was not coming on. I checked the pump and no power appears to be coming into it and the LED screen on the pump appears to be getting no power either. Our pentair whisper pump for the jets on the hot tub, however is getting power and working as well as the pentair heater for the hot tub that it’s all coming from the same circuit board. Not sure where to start on the circuit board. I have flipped the switches and left it off for 15 minutes, flipped them back on, but still no power to the main pump.

Welcome to TFP.

Do you have a multimeter and know how to use it to check voltages?

Have you checked for 240V between L1 and L2 at the pump?

Have you checked for 240V at the pump circuit breaker?

Do you have a GFCI circuit breaker? Have you tested and reset it?

I do not have a multimeter. I have checked the switches at the breaker for the pool and they were in the on position. I switched them to the off position and waited 15 minutes, then switched them back on. The GFI plug on the circuit breaker is green and has not been tripped.

Az,

Your EasyTouch should be in the Pool mode or the Spa mode... It is not!!!

As a 'temp' fix, push the "F" button.. This will turn on the Pump/Filter relay..

When you do this, if the pump's display comes on, this mean your pump is not wired correctly.. It will work, but it is something that will need to be fixed.. (simple fix..)

Push the 'F' button and let me know what happens..

1. The pump's display should light up..
2. The pump's display should show "Display not Active"
3. The pump should run...

Thanks,

Jim R.

When I press the F button and make some clicks the word pull displays as well as the degrees, but no changed to the pool pump screen still without power

Az,

That is too bad, I was hoping that the problem was simple..

I need to see the wiring inside the panel..

Take off the panel that covers the circuit breakers and show me several pics. I need to see the wiring between the breakers and the pump/filter relay (the one in the top left...)

Like this one...

Az,

Thanks for the pics...

The relay in the upper left is supposed to be the Pump/Filter relay.. But this relay appears connected to the 2nd breaker from the top which is the Booster pump breaker... This is not normal, so I am not sure what is going on..

If possible, find the conduit that goes to the IntelliFlo pump and follow the wires back up into the EasyTouch and tell me where the wires go.

I 'assume' the relays that you reset are the ones in the EasyTouch panel... If not, you should reset the top two breakers.

You might also want to reset the breaker in your main panel that sends the AC power to the EasyTouch.

I'm done for the day, so we'll have to pick this up tomorrow..

Thanks,

Jim R.
