If this is mis-posted, please excuse. Couldn't find a pertinent forum. Using PPP, I find that it ends up clogging my cartridge filter before dissolving. Is there a way to keep it from making its way to the filter? Maybe a fine mesh canister or bag? Anyone else had this problem? Thanks.

I would think using Cal Hypo in Riverside would not be a good idea. Your fill water is high in CH, yes?
Also sounds like you are dumping it in the skimmer. Never add a chemical directly to the skimmer. It can damage pump seals, filter components, heaters, etc.
Spread the material over the deep end. Be sure to brush the area to be sure it is fully dissolved or it will stain the pool surface.
